Re: A.I Rudder Steering Tips +
The bloke in that video had a short section I saw on another of his posts showing a length of about 8 inches of thick bungee type chord attached on the AMA and then the rope goes to the front eye on the yak, I’m not sure why he did that, perhaps to flex a bit with initial impact until it pushes bac...

Re: A.I Rudder Steering Tips +
I favour the 'keep-out' lines, rather than stronger shear-pins...
When fishing they are an added obstruction, but they're definitely a better solution.
Make sure you use something with zero-stretch though, like thick dyneema.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Adventure Island trailer mod
Just playing devil's advocate here, but wood for a trailer-box?
I get the DIY angle, but that seems like a whole world of pain waiting to happen...
There's a good reason all commercial boxes are made for welded galv or alloy.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Cleeland Bight - Surfin' USA...
I've seen it a few times over the past few weeks.
Once (about 6 weeks ago), it was right at the shore, playing with a couple of people who were swimming...
It came up to them, they weren't hassling it, or chasing it around - I would've went in for a look, but it was bloody freezing!

Re: Tips wanted for buying a second hand Hobie AI
I'm a bit of a fan of the original 2007-2014(?) A.I. as it's a more versatile boat overall, in my opinion. Any A.I. is a heavy lump and if you're used to a 'normal' kayak you'll be in for a shock when it come to moving the things around and setting it up - they can be a pain in the arse, if I'm hone...

Interesting to see the change from yesterday evening, to this morning, particularly the density of the smoke-cloud...
The cool-change has just hit Phillip Island, with strong W winds. Wonder how the wind-change will affect things down in E Gippy?

Re: PEDALFISH 10 PEDAL KAYAK
Seriously, go Hobie. There are some great 2nd hand bargains around atm (Outbacks, Revos and PAs). Check-out Gumtree and eBay. As Mav mentioned - after sales/spares/service etc are something you need to consider - again, Hobie are 2nd to none in that regard, even for used models. Cheers, Mike. P.S. Y...

The main problem is that we all have heads for radio... It wouldn't be fair to inflict us lot on the viewing public...
