Re: $30 vantage style seat, older TI

Looks good Deefa, I tried something similar with a folding blue line boat seat on my old outback (pre vantage seat) a few years ago but it raised the seat height too much and created less stability. Also the old buckle/straps snapped 3rd time I used it, the seat fell/rocked backward the yak capsize...

Oh, and the tiller just misses the chair frame at full starboard, and is a comfortable position..

Re: $30 vantage style seat, older TI

On the older AI's there's a black plastic knob on the vertical face behind the seat. For my boat seat mount I attached a loop of chord/rope to the seat that's just long enough to loop over the knob and hold the rear down. Then attach the front straps and tighten. If the TI has this you can do simil...

Re: $30 vantage style seat, older TI

Looks good... I hope it works good! Where did you get the seat from? pickup, from some random ebay seller with a warehouse in clayton, I've had it for a while... Will it fit in both the front and rear seat-wells on the T.I.? The seat won't be held in position nicely in the back, I would have to thi...

$30 vantage style seat, older TI

The kokotats have split under the seal section, meaning arse soup in the pants if any water gathers in the seat well - not fun Take one $30 aluminium beach chair: http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd176/deefa_d/Kayak%20Fishing%20and%20related/beachChair_zpsqadxk8bh.jpg Pull it apart, reverse the se...

Aka auto-eject eliminator

At Portland I had the fun experience of the front starboard aka deciding to pop out without warning - fortunately we had just stopped sailing, but even pedaling the tramp dug in and things got a little messy. I struggled for a while on the water to get it re-inserted, as I had tramps and a haka hold...

Quick and dirty PVC bait tube

Hobie still do twist and stow rudders? I really should keep up with the 'lesser' models... ;)

Nice setup.

Re: Couple of questions for complete noob

Sorry to be alittle late but also Model aircraft 3S lipo batteries are great, lightweight & usually sealed. If have an appropriate charger grab a 4000mah 3S battery. Powers a fishfinder all day no issues. I got a tupperware type container put wires from fishfinder in and sealed the holes just i...
