Re: Fishfinder/Sounder- Which one?
The ch smith deal looks good too. Is there a difference in the maps?
BCF says in the description:
Includes Navionics + 50XG XL9 Aus/NZ Chart
CH smith says in the title:
Navionics XL50 Gold Maps
CH smith is $330 while BCF is $303.

Good stuff, I think I'll head in tomorrow and get the Lowrance Chirp 4 Combo. It's a bargain at $300 with Navionics. From what I hear too, they haven't changed anything in the new Hook models anyway.

I think a lot of the time people over spec the anchor rope. Buy some thin cord, and try to break it without tipping your yak! It doesn't take a lot of tension to hold a kayak.

Re: which wire to use for led light pole
Not availiable in clear, i was doing an inline dimmer and i needed to be able to see the buttons. and this works a treat for cable in the shape of a figure 8 (or multiple cables)
I just wish i could get a gland that would work on a 5mm wall for the battery box.

Re: which wire to use for led light pole
Also, i discovered a trick for keeping stuff waterproof. If you put a few dabs of hot glue under your heatshrink it will melt when you shrink. Excess will pour out the ends and it will make a good seal.

Got my eye out! I'd love to snap one up for 600, but that may be pushing it.laneends wrote: They do come up SH, particularly interstate. They may be older models though

Re: Prowler ultra 4.3
One of these (or the size up) is definitely on my shortlist for an upgrade. The trouble will be getting one on the cheap (I'm a tightarse!). Looks great for the amount of storage and speed. It seems I'm seeing a lot of quick kayaks go cheap on ebay, but the general problem is finding one suited to c...
