Re: A very lucky man

Hi All, Yes it does get pretty rough out past the headlands, also the wind, particularly from the East funnels through the valleys. I have only yak fished from Norman bay to Squeaky beach, and then in a light North westerly. There are mobile towers on Mt Oberon, also at Yanakie. On the road out we g...

A very lucky man

Hi All, I work down at Wilsons promontory national park, and just on knock off tonight we got a call to get the Parks boat out to rescue a kayakker who had gone missing off Norman bay. Apparently he and a friend were going to kayak over to Oberon bay to meet up with other friends who were hiking ove...

Re: Bought Something new wanna share it? Post it here

Just picked up CrazyChenski`s revo that he had for sale today. My missus wanted a yak to use every now and then, and wanted "one of those pedal ones". Guess I will have to use it regularly so it is kept in good working order for when she requires its use.

Re: What are you reading?

At the moment I am reading a book loaned to me by a workmate. It is The Forgotten Islands by Michael Veitch and is about the Bass strait islands, so far so good, should be a good read. Fiction, my favourites would be the detective Dave Robichaux series by James lee Burke, and books by Jonathan Kelle...

Re: The first time I went fishing was......

The earliest I remember is, like Digger, in a putt-putt my dad and his mates from work hired. I remember a few trips, some from Frankston, some from Mordialloc. We always used to get flatties and couta, enough for a decent feed anyway. Went from Mordialloc with some mates from my work many years lat...
