I am always up for a bargain and may have got one. A couple of weeks ago I began negotiating a possible trade with another vyakker, this sparked my intrest in a PA 14 but didn't eventuate. So I began researching outbacks vs PAs trying to figure what would suit me best. I started to question my needs and wants as I'm sure many have before me. The recommendation from this forum was to try a PA and then you will know. (fast forward) I happened to be scrolling through Ebay and found an auction that interest me. I had my budget set and the waited until there was 59 seconds left to strike. I won , I really won ? WOOOOOOO.
the package:
2 x paddles
2 x mirage drive *one with turbo fins
1x trailer
2x trailer cradles
2x seats
2 x trolleys
3 x tackle trays
1x tackle bag
2 x hatch tubs
1x fish finder
1x hobie proangler 14
1x hobie (vintage) outback
I took a huge risk but the owner seemed genuine over the phone, my father who lives in ACT was able to look at them and confirm there condition. So today I met him half way in Wodonga and picked them up. Super excited as they are in perfect condition. the outback does not look like it has seen water. Certainly has not been used for fishing as there is not one extra added, she's an oldie but a goodie. The PA has had a screw here a screw there and scratches underneath. So I will check them over water test them and consider my options . I will certainly sell an outback but unsure which one. It's also a good chance for some of my fisho friends to try kayaking too. I will also be happy to give a vyakker a session if there considering buying a hobie. Any excuse for me to get off the water. a big day driving but look forward to giving the PA a crack.
