This is good video on how to clean squid (basic i know but i still learned a few tricks from it)

Some good tips there. However I still prefer to use a finger up the end to turn the hoods inside out and clean before slicing down the side.

She is pretty handy at cleaning fish, and she seems to enjoy it. We can dream.....

She certainly makes it look easy. Mine are always way messier than those nice clean squid.

I love what she did with the head and flaps. They usually make their way into a bait bucket at my joint.

The tentacles are the most tender part of the squid to eat they are always moving.
Good way to gross the kids out with some tentacles hanging out of your mouth.

OR option 2 go to Eltham hotel and have Gluten Free fried calamari with chips and salad. YUM

The quickest way to remove the skin is to grab a handful of sand and used that to help grip
the skin and sort of 'wipe' it off the meat. Then just give it a wash in the sea to remove
the sand - it comes of very easily.

I was very sceptical when I was first told about this and thought that the squid would end
up full of sand, but it works very well.
