RS Productions -Added Bass opening 2017

Post by SurfanFish »

At the suggestion of another member, I thought I'd post a clip of a bass trip bigi and I did a few months ago to the place many consider a disappointment.

Got bored over Winter and did a compilation of bass stuff from here and NSW.

Not long back from a trip to NSW, surfing, diving and a bit of Bass fishing. Finding the fish this time was a challenge but takes you to some great locations, tests your resolve and makes it all the sweeter when you hit the jackpot. The video will tell the story but certainly the bigger fish were in charge of the water that needed more patience and care in approach.

Most of the action is at close quarters which for me beats surface action (unless you get both at once, which did happen a couple of times). The action cameras are great and forgiving with their wide focal views but don't quite show the explosiveness you experience beyond 3 or 4 feet as an offset for this - although perhaps facial expressions and expletives (that I edited out) give the idea.

The head cam is my old trusty GoPro, the front camera is the AEE reviewed recently by Wokka.

Great vid,
I thought for a second that big one, when you were playing monkey was going to get you again on the same snag.
Not easy fishing in trees like that with big fat fish hey

Thanks blokes. Amazing some of the stuff that happens and the things you try when you fish solo. Too good a session not to share. I picked up a heap of punk bass in the low to mid 20s then started exploring an overgrown section and came across the bigger stuff (32, 36, 43, 46). The second last fish was a ripper. Off the surface and only about 6 feet away. The last fish was on a second cast when I had got my footing settled. If it had of hit first cast, I would have likely gone in.

That's a ripper session. The smaller the water got the bigger the fish !. Some of that stuff most people wouldn't think worthy of a cast.
