Scallop Dive Saturday (15th Aug) RESULT.

Post by maverick »

Looks like Merv & I may be going for a scallop dive on Saturday morning for anyone interested in coming along. Slack water is around 9.30, so it will be a 8.30 set up and diving at 9.00.

Arriving at 0830 - Tyrome Beach, just past Flinders Street.
Slack water is around 0930, which is when we want to be diving.

G'day maverick is there a closed season for scallops ? And what is the bag limit,do you find more in winter or summer? Don't you feel the cold, good luck hope you get yourself a feed.

No closed season, 100 scallops per diver, the colder the water the better the scallops and yes I feel the cold, but good quality gear helps. And nothing beats fresh scallops.

Nice dive, scallops were a bit hard to find but still managed a feed. Managed a few squid with G.Dog after the dive as well. Nice to meet you G.Dog & plenty more dives to come - bring on the cray dives.
No video or dive pics today, just a couple from the drone afterwards.

Glad to see you got a feed.
Nice drone pics too. Thanks for posting.
Must have been a good day for it, skies look clear & so does the water from above.
Sorry I couldn't make it.
Rob (Jacko).
