Good idea and I would be up for this.

Ok gentleman,
I had a chat to my mate who does the testing.
He said he doesn't run the courses just takes the tests and sends them off.
He will give me more information tomorrow but indicated the cost would be around $50 to sit the test and this includes getting your licence posted back you.
He has to pay upfront for the tests to be sent to him and said he would need around 2 weeks notice.

He suggested we get together as a group and go through the book over 2 or 3 nights and then sit the free online practice test (i have a link somewhere and will post).
Then we can go to his place to sit the test as a group.
He has a beautiful place on the esplanade opposite fisherman's beach in mornington, hopefully it is local enough for you all.
As mentioned I already have my licence so I won't sit the test but I'm happy to join you for the group study sessions if you want to go ahead with this.
Having Sat through the course I think we could go through the book as a group and cover off pretty much the same as the course.
I can lead the group so we keep on track if you are happy with that?

Also had a thought that we could do the study sessions in the Frankston library? Not sure the rules there but I can ask.

This will be a cheap way to get your licence and meet up with other yakkers.
Let me know your thoughts, of course you could just got over the book and then just sit the test as well but as a group I'm sure there will be questions raised that will help everyone.

Will.

Edit# I forgot to mention that when we sit the test my friend said we could do around 1.5 hours revision at his place.
Maybe we only need one decent session as a group together say 3-4 hours then we just go to the test?
It would be easier for those who have to travel a long distance or get parole to travel across from the west...

I could be interested in this Will. However I can't see myself being able to make repeated long trips for the study sessions. Would it be possible to study independently and just come down to sit the test?

Yeah, I'm in. Some officeworks stores offer free meeting rooms which might be worth looking as most libraries charge for use of their group rooms.
