For those looking for a first pedal yak or an upgrade, good old Hobie have released the advertising for the new 2019 Outback.
Looks interesting indeed. A cross between the Compass, PA12 and with the basic features of the later model Outback.
Have a look at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EspLVQGg8JI
edit: The better one is on: https://www.hobie.com/au/en/kayaks/mirage-outback/
Some interesting and long overdue features will suit many yak fisher folk.
Maybe Josh could give his rundown and opinion in the near future? 9no pressure Josh )
No idea when they might land in Aus, but I think they might be in demand. (unless they get really silly with the price?)

Looks great, but I am sure there will be a price rise.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Looks very similar to the Jackson and Native models now. That camo colour sucks arse too...
47kgs?! I guess the weight of the yak goes up with the weight of the average yank...
Mike.

Think how much stainless accessories you could fit to a stealth and still be lighter.cheaterparts wrote:don't think they have had it on a diet ether almost 47 kg -maverick wrote:Looks great, but I am sure there will be a price rise.

My outback with the old style seat was in the early 30's, it has gone up a fair bit in weight over the two model changes.Reeling wrote:Think how much stainless accessories you could fit to a stealth and still be lighter.cheaterparts wrote:don't think they have had it on a diet ether almost 47 kg -maverick wrote:Looks great, but I am sure there will be a price rise.

Most probably won't be in Aus until summer next year.

Okay so US$2800.00 before kitting it out

So Mav or anyone else are you going to dump the Compass for one of these?

Re: Finally, the Outback has been rejigged
probably aimed at would be pa12 owners. Probably needed beefing up so it was less of a comparison to the compass, to which i am sure it has lost a lot of sales to.
