Ok, so whilst waiting for my kayak to come in I went and paid the rest of it off and the reason he advised against the rudder is because we'll be doing a lot of anchoring.
I can kind of see where he's coming from, but I still need to get to the anchoring location and then back to shore, so I think I might end up getting the rudder.
Going to play around in local dams before I go out into the bay, so I have a bit of time to save for the rudder.
