Very nice yak !!
I have the Redfish 14 which I bought from a vyak member Redfish (jeremy), I have had it for quite a few years now and I am still happy with it. Phil
Thanks Phil, Would you happen to have any photos on here of your setup? could you share the link?

I have pulled up the rudder out of interest in most conditions to see the difference and admit it is very difficult to keep on track, am very glad I got it installed.

Nice yak Ben !

The front reminds me of my Hobie Quest, great for slicing waves in the chop.

Coming from a 10ft yak, this would be a world of difference in terms of being able to get in amongst it... after all, that's what it's all about eh?

Enjoy !

Looks like a baofeng uv5r. Great cheap radio. How do you keep it waterproof?

Hey Paul,

Is indeed, I use it for VHF and when on my own play FM tunes through it. I purchased a zip-lock dry bag suited for it on Ebay (similar to those types for smart phones) but it's quite hard to use when in there so have been using a glad type sealed bag. Being so cheap i'm not too concerned about it dropping in the drink.

Hi Ben,
I didnt have any pics of my yak posted, but I had it outside today to do clear some room in my shed to do some work, so took the opportunity to get some pics.
Jeremy, the guy I bought it off did most of the setup, rod holders, anchor trolley, battery box etc. It came with a better sounder (Lowrance x67c) which was able to be fitted with a speed and distance log, so I took that one off and fitted it to my yacht. I replaced it with a Garmin echo 300 which is a pretty cheap colour sounder, and run a through hull transducer (sikaflexed to inside of yak).
Scotty rod holders with extensions work well and keep things close to hand, landing net usually sits over one of my feet, tackle box and bait container live in middle of cockpit.
From memory paddle holders are Break of day brand and I think I got them from Anaconda, they are great and fold down so you dont catch the paddle on them when travelling.
She has been a great yak to fish from, probably the longest days paddling I have done is around 13km, which didnt seem to bad when stopping to fish fairly often.
Good luck with yours and enjoy.
Cheers
Phil

Neat clean rig!
