Kayaker rescued at Mornington.
Both the local papers are reporting a story about a kayaker being rescued, last Tuesday. Doesn't say if he was fishing only that he was rescued when his kayak was half full of water and he was in the water. The off-duty police who rescued him thought it was a bit silly that he was out in such rough conditions. Apparently his partner was on the beach and raised the alarm. The other report stated the kayak was sinking in nasty conditions and he was apparently from Greenborough. Might not have been fishing and may have been a sit in yak. Got caught in nasty weather, mmm make sure you read the weather forecasts this summer & how they apply to the area you want to fish- before heading out.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Not good in some ways, but good in others. Each of these reports raises the profile of safety, which is a good thing so long as we all heed the message.
