Hey Bozzie, good to see your still lurkin aboutBozzie wrote:Hi Guys,
I haven't had much time to read any posts since November last year, and have replied to none but thought I should reply to this one. The EASIEST way to re-fit the wheels after fishing is to "Ask for Help".
I can't think of any occasion that I have returned to shore and not had at least one other person with me, or a passer-by that didn't want to stop for a chat. If you're fishing alone, then tip it on it's side. No biggie!

If your on your own you have to take everything out and lay the yak on its side to fit the wheels,
If fishing with someone else, rest the read handle on your forarm, life the yak and have someone else fit the wheels for you.
Say hi to people walking by and they usually stop for a chat, easy to get a hand that way too
Cheers Tip

If you don't mind get wet abit, I think you should be able to fit it in while yak still in knee deep water.....Push the trolley under the water and then fit through the scrubber hole.
Fishing is just like Accounting .... it is all about Optical Illusion ...............

Dale, How do you take your wheels OFF when launching the PA?
I'm assuming you wheel it out into the water and reach under and pull them out.
I'm guessing as has been suggested that thats the easiest way of refitting them. Its what i do with the outback when i have a little distance from the water to the car(otherwise i just carry it)

Re: PA Owners question - Refitting the wheels???
Back on topic......For getting the wheels off I just wheel my PA up to the waters edge and then lift the bow up high enough so the wheels drop out underneath, then take a couple of steps sideways (pivoting yak on it's stern) and lay the yak down beside the wheels.
For getting them back on at the end of a trip I move my gear to one side of the PA's cockpit and then lift from the side without the gear, and put the wheels in. I find that the wheels can be reinserted when the PA is at less than 90 degrees, and as such the gear in the cockpit rolls a little but doesn't fall out (much )
