Not that I have qualified but I know for sure the ban was in place early, so I dont really have a problem with the ban.
I do however feel sorry for the yakkers that have not yet fished at Bemm and think it is a little unfair to them. I would be reasonably confident myself of getting fish without a pre fish but I have been there Over a half dozen times, some not so!
Rules are rules but I do like the idea of letting the field sound around for a while on the Friday...

Dear Hobie GF competitors,
Hobie have always planned to allow competitors on the water just not for fishing prior to the event.
Hobie will make the kayaks available to competitors the day before the event however no fishing will be allowed. The hours are yet to be determined however right now we are looking at access to the Hobie kayaks between 10:00 am and 2pm.
On the assembly day, Hobie staff will issues all supplied equipment.
• Live-wells
• Stakeout poles
• Drift chutes
• Sounders
• Battery chargers
Hobie staff with go through the set-up of the live-well (for those not familiar with the Hobie system), the set-up of the supplied sounders and the correct use of other supplied equipment.
The assembly day will allow us to make sure everyone is familiar with the supplied equipment, that everything is working and more importantly allow competitors to map out locations, use the sounders to find banks, structure, water depth and temperature and come up with a game plan.
NOTE: Hobie staff will check each kayak prior to allowing the kayak on the water for any rods and or tackle and again when you return. Anyone caught on the water with rods and or tackle will be looking at a DSQ.
Any question, by all means contact us.
See you on the water soon.
