Went for a dive off Phillip island today and conditions were amazing the first dive site had a penguin swimming around followed by a seal who had caught a fish and was playing with it throwing it around like a rag doll!!!
Upon descent realized how clear the water was visibility was amazing had to be 20+m!! As soon as I reached close to the bottom 32m turned around to look for my dive buddy and saw a school of big kingies!!! Just gliding past! The first time I have seen them in the water their presence is awesome!!
Saw plenty of other fish life and then went for a Cray bash for the second dive and managed to catch two!! Was rapped the amount of abalone I saw was mind blowing!! More than 5 in a square meter in some spots (was a no take day) will try and get some pick up shortly was a great day and one of my most memorable dive days ever the conditions were perfect!!

Well done Dom, time for a yak based cray dive.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Not exactly sure of location! Only probably 2km off shore for the kings would have been able to do it from the yak but would have to pick the day!! The pic of the kingies looks terrible but they were their had I have had a speargun with me would have smacked one for sure within 4m at one stage. Definitely have to hit up a Cray dive Mav!!!! The crays seemed to be in easier ground the ledges were a lot smaller and both caught could be approaches from both sides giving them nowhere to go.

Great report Dom
It would be an interesting ride if you speared a big kingy
