cheaterparts wrote: So while I was at work on tuesday my wife pulled out the 5" grinder and a cup wire brush and the 7" sander with a bigger cup wire brush fully cleaning up the trailer ready to paint
of cause she also seam sealed it up as well

wife pulled out the soldering iron and wired it up - I have to wire a plug on tomorrow as I didn't have one on the shelf for her today

Nice catch cheater  does she have a younger sister?

some updates on the trail lar lar from the frame built on the 8 x 4

Image

the side box was built to carry all my gear including camping gear below are a couple of shots first from the Murray and then a week later camping at Lang Lang

but I had a quck built lift off door for the side box to get me by , as I ran out of time

so today with fishing a wash out ( or blown away ) I got both side doors made hinged and have lock up drop Tee locks both have some cold gal on them as a primer
and the gear storage side has a weather strip hopefully it will keep some water out

there are still a few things to do before painting it all

fit up a spare wheel holder
fit checker plate over the draw bar
fit another swing up door to the rear above the kayak
and fill in above the kayak at the front

but its coming along and staying usable the whole time work is getting done

You've inspired us cheater... bought a 6x4 on flea bay. What I liked was the removable rack that overhangs the draw bar.it also sits just higher than the car roof so the yak should sit nicely on top. Need to get a spare for it and prob a couple of new/old tires.
I'll look at making a canvas tent that clips to the frame.
..project for tomorrow is get the tail lights working..indicators are fine and there's no globe issues.

I saw all your trailers at the LL meet and it makes me want to do the same.(top jobs)
Can I ask a silly question but, I fish places like olivers hill and similar places, would I need to get a ticket for the car/trailer or would I get booked.
I normally leave the car(no trailer) in the car park and I've never had a problem.
Thanks.

Gozz I have asked the Frankston council inspector that very question.(do I need a ticket for my 6x4 trailer parked in the Oliver's hill boat ramp car park ) His reply depends who the inspector is but he would not fine anyone without a ticket. My opinion is that you will be better of purchasing a ticket as no guarantee what numb nuts will check your car.
