Most of my pinkies have been caught on these along with the 3 hookups I had yesterday on good sized snapper with 2 landed.

Do you reckon having a big single hook rather than trebles helps keep the bigger fish on the hook?

I had that bottom lure for a long time ,it caught everything but snapper ...go figure .Thumbs up with the single hooks and I have cut back to just one at the tail of my lures

As if I need more lures to add to the collection.

I have never kept track of numbers, but to me it seems that they do (or it may just be my imagination, most of my fishing was salmon in the US and they are pretty good sized fish). But it is a hell of a lot easier to handle and deal with fish once landed with just the single hooks. Also less damage to the fish from what I can tell so far. Less pointy ends sticking into the fish, and you. Bonus for the fish that you release .

How is the single hook at the tail working out? I thought about doing that, just wasn't sure if it would change my hook up rate as often I do get fish on the front hook.

No worries. I've always shared my information with people unless I knew they were in the group that would go to specific spots and overfish the area for a specific species of fish (big issue in the US freshwater). Fishing to me and many is a big part of our lives as entertainment and I want people to be able to enjoy themselves . So whatever helps, let's hope they still like them tomorrow morning

Ah Rapala CDs, my all-time favourite lure. Most of mine have single hooks to. Sometimes it results in better hook ups, other times worse. Depends on the species and seemingly the manner in which they're feeding (for example, mack tuna do a great job of spitting singles one day, hook up every time the next). I am less concerned with hook up rate than I am injuring fish. I return most of what I catch and I like to think that I've done so without permanently injuring or killing the fish. Also less likely to injure yourself to. In my opinion singles should be the default standard, not the other way around. Sadly most people just care about catching more fish and to some, more barbs means more fish.

Interesting pics, have you filed down or closed the barbs on the hooks ? I try and close them on my trout flies, makes for a much easier release

If I remember I try to clamp down the barbs with pliers. I tend not to keep too many fish as it is only my wife and I at home until our little one arrives (and still will be awhile before that one can eat) so I try to release the fish with nothing more than a bit of tiredness and a single puncture from a single hook if at all possible.

About how long are these? Is the CD9 representing 9 CM? <---- ignore this, i did some googling 9cm
