Anchor Set Up & Retrieval.

Quite a few yaks are rigged with an anchor trolley that only goes to the rear.

I've got two half trolleys. Run loose end up front trolly to front front, cleat that trolley, the let the anchor slip out the back trolley without pulling forward (anchor is cleated to yak rather than trolley clip). As it is already attached to front yak spins around to face it and I retreive.

I also have a float attached to my rope reel for quick release purposes.
If quick release is required I can throw the lot overbroad and come back and get it later as previously described.
We are such a clever bunch us kayak anglers.

plenty of good tips thanks. ive only tested mine in ppb on a good day. wil shortly get out in wp for a real test.

Hi guys,

I use one of these to attach my anchor float/spool to the kayak.

I run a cord to the quick release and keep it accessible (do not tie it to anything on the other end). One tap on the cord and the anchor is released instantly.

I also run one on my drift chute.

Keble's Trading in Kilsyth sell these. From memory they were less than $10 each.
