The idea of a little mono to stop trolled lines tangling in the rudder... brilliant!!!!!

Yeah the simple ideas are the best! I had seen a version of it where a tiny hole was drilled in the skeg and the rudder and a strip of mono run through both and then crimped. I just ran the mono along the length of the edge of the rudder and the skeg and used the keel-ezy to keep it in place.

What is your average comfortable paddling speed Eoin. They are a slippery unit are they not.

Good question Larry, I only finished the sounder recently and had the elite 3 on it last time out so no GPS to measure speed on ground. They are quick, the newer carbon kevlar versions are even quicker, but my bad paddling will probably be the biggest factor. I'll stick the other sounder on next time out and see what it clocks. It might have to be an offshore test :evilgrin:

Eoin, they just love Walkerville, in the right weather of course. A nice beach to launch from, toilet and shower at the beach and sometimes good fishing to boot.
