Looks like it would be a good safety item to carry for the kayak. In a lot of ways it would be better than flares for those of us who don't venture offshore. I did some looking around and there doesn't seem to be any new information about the product since January which is just after their kickstarter campaign failed so maybe they decided not to go ahead with the product.
