Well done Pietro, not that many people would have the clarity of mind to react to a situation like that the way you did.
For that guys sake I'm very glad you decided to head to RI and not Flinders. We'll have to catch up for a squid session soon.

Well,
I am still speechless. I was meant to go to flinders and decided to head out there as it was calmer conditions.
I was having lunch alone as Mrs at work and i though at the table... he would have died if i wasnt there... even thinking he could have gotten worst while on my lap....
I shake my head and think what it could have been...
Cheers guys and im sure everyone would do the same...

Re: Man overboard western port 16th Jan 2016
Thought I'd put my thoughts here (from trips section) now that I've found the main thread on this incident.
Hi Pietro,
First of all thank you for doing such a great thing for these people. Without your help this would have been more devastating. There's only so much we can do to prevent these type of incidents and the best thing we can do is help when needed.
More importantly I hope you are OK. Seeing this kind of thing (convulsing, someone close to drowning etc) can have a profound effect on a person, and you may or may not be prepared for that. Being in the health field myself however, I would strongly suggest you be pro-active and contact your GP and at least start a little bit of preventative counselling so this thing that has occurred can sit ok with you in time.
Again, well done for helping in a great way. Look after yourself.
Gus.

Pietro, again good on you for your effort to save a life..
As has been said, this type of incident can affect yourself in a negative way, even thou all ended OK.
If u feel the need to talk it over at all, see your gp, a councillor or even just speak up here.
We would all hate any bad repercussions on your side from this event
