Hello to all,
Paint tbe picture.... clear sky's, high tide, beautiful morning.
So the morning starts with catching a calamari in the first 10 min of launch... I then look at a fellow kayaker fishing and noticed there was a second person sitting on the back of a Pro Angler 14. This meant that there were 2 people on the one kayak, clearly only designed for one person. I continue fishing and trolling for calamari and the i turn and a splash of water gets my attention I see that one of the gentleman has entered the water in his bathers and I'm thinking why is he jumping in it's not that hot.
I continue to fish and then notice the second man that was sitting on the Esky jumped off into the water to save his fellow fishermen. It was clear at this stage that the initial man that jumped in the water was in trouble so I in a panic I threw my Rod space as soon as I got up to the 2 in the water, the initial man appeared to be having a seizure and had his eyes rolling back in his head I came up the side the two and I'm out of shear strength heaved thw initial man update to my Kayak over on my lap.
He was grunting and gurgling trying to breathe as he has fluid in lungs.
I've been called emergency services and with the man continually having a seizure in my lap I paddled myself and the Kayak and the unconscious man that's having a seizure too shore about 400 to 500 metres to the beach.
At this stage my legs are building up with lactic acid I've been paddling now for around 15 minutes the ambulance took the unconscious gentleman and currently now isn't Frankston hospital and has hypothermia, fluid in his lungs and has to remain in hospital for a for the week to ensure that he doesn't drown while he's sleeping.
I saved a 20 year old persons life today and the frustrating thing is he initially jumped into the water to save his fishing rod that cost him $100...
I could have had a man die in my lap today. So goes to say...
DONT JUMP INTO WATER IF YOU DROPPED SOMTHING AND MORE IMPORTANTLY YIUR LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAT A ROD...
I managed to loose one graphite squid rod and a fin off my marage drive. Who cares.. im alive...
Regards
Pietro Imperatori

Thumbs up!!
Its scary how people place objects of such low or replaceable nature above their own life.

In my book you are a hero, well done. Would want someone just like you around if I fell out of my yak.
