I'm also seeing reports of barrels down there atm. Apparently 3 came in today with more spotted in close. Hooking one of them in shallow would get very interesting.

I wont be fishing sunday or monday (wish i could) but you are welcme to join saturday or tuesday if you want

Do you guys just drive down for the day, or have you got a place to stay down there?

It depends sometimes its leave Melb at crazy o clock and fish first light, but driving down the night before is preferred. I'm driving down Fri night and staying in a motel to fish first thing Saturday. There is space if you were thinking of making the trip.

That is very very tempting, I have a friends housewarming on Saturday though.

Plenty of experience in the yak, just not at Portland although we have a fairly good idea where the fish are atm.
