Thanks for the tip merv I'll give it a go next time.
And yes they are dusky morwongs. I take them occasionally for some philippino friends of mine. I did try a skinned fillet of one of them this time and it was ok. I've had them in the past and been disgusted by the taste.

Re: Yak Fisher Magazine
nice one mav do you know many people that freedive / spear from yaks. I would like to find a buddy on the geelong side of the bay to do some diving etc. i've speared from the yak half a dozen or so times by myself but always keep it really safe due to not having a buddy.

Re: New spear gun
nice! it should be great for flathead and night dives. 19mm is thick for such a little gun! i wonder why so much power for it? I have 16mm on all my guns, one with double 16's quite happy with the lower power of them and easy to load.

have fun with the occy? i've shot one once a long time ago and remember having trouble getting it off the spear and onto stringer. then preparing them was another ordeal all together.

Great suggestion Brett. Think it might take somthing that can squirt with a bit of pressure to get the sand out.

The plastic tab ones brett. There was sand in every crack and crevice and was packed tight in and around the lugsBretty wrote:Leigh what seat lugs do you have
