Re: Advice on box trailer for the outback

Here's a thread that might answer some of your questions. https://www.vyak.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=1142 I ended up buying an old jetski trailer for my 12 foot Native Watercraft kayak. It was only $200. When I put the kayak on the trailer I had an overhand of around 1 metre, which I though...

Re: Music Vids I Like

This is a cover of an old Jimi Hendrix song, called Hey Baby. I think it might even be better than the original.

Re: Swordfish in Pambula River

I think it may have something to do with the shape of the bay there. You have fairly deep water from Haycock point right along to the mouth of the Pambula River. The entrance itself is stuck right in the southwest corner of the bay and the land contours might tend to act as a funnel to guide these d...

Re: Red Centre.

My wife must have been sick of the holidays that I organised each year, as they always involved going somewhere where the fishing was good and I would always spend too much time fishing, in her eyes, at least. Last year she decided she would organise our next holiday and low and behold, she wanted t...

Re: Coota Opening.

The Snowy at Marlo finally closed this week. It had just barely been open for some time.

It will be good when we get a bit of rain that should return all of our estuaries back to normal.

Re: Fishing the crater lakes, south west vic

In Purrumbeet there is (or was) a ring of weed that extends out from the bank, if you troll around close to this weed so your lure is very close to the weed, you might catch a few. I haven't fished there for decades, but it used to work quite well. I have also used downriggers there and at Bullen Me...

Re: Mallacoota!

I'm very envious Rob. Your new accommodation looks very inviting and comfortable and it's in one of my favourite locations of all time. Your arrangement allows you to take your boat on its trailer, allowing you the ease of quick and easy launching. All in all, it has to be close to being the perfect...

Re: Another heads up re. closing rear hatches

I believe Hobie kayaks have a block of foam buoyancy material located in the front section of the kayak. You can see in the video in the OP how the kayak is sitting in the water, with its bow up in the air and its stern well under the water. If this kayak had been fitted with another block of foam i...

I don't know how I missed the first thread, but I did. Oh well, it's probably worth another run anyway.
