Re: New Overtaking Emergency Road Rule 1 July

The rule makes sense to me, I was just past Bendigo driving out to Swan Hill last week and there was police with a car pulled over on the highway. I slowed down to about 50 to pass them because I know I wouldn't feel very comfortable standing on the side of the road with cars going past at 100. One ...

Re: Is the Pro Angler supposed to come with a manual?

I got a printed manual with my PA, maybe they've stopped doing it though as mine is a 2015 model.

Re: Good deal for hobie 12 angler pro?

I feel the 2016 PA14 got the craft just about spot on. Anything older is just trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. A standard package had the basics from which to build. Buy a cheap compromise now and when you get to what you actually need as @laneend implies you will have spent what a ne...

Re: Hot weather clothing?

I don't get sunburnt so I just cover up as much as possible because I have a hard time knowing if sunscreen is doing it's job. I usually wear drypants, hi-vis long sleeve shirt and broad-brim hat+neck buff. Most of my fishing is early morning during summer so I'm usually off the water before it gets...

Re: Help with blue battery block wiring

It's usually a fulty connection somewhere that does that. Check through everything, use a voltmeter and move cables around until you find what turns it off. Is it possible that the battery is too weak? As I have switched the battery in and off and it restarts sometimes. Also I'd I change battery it...

Re: Help with blue battery block wiring

That's real helpful. First time in Jaycar now. Do I need to add an in line fuse. To all of this or is it okay Check you sounder manual and it should say if it is necessary and what fuse rating to use. I think most sounders do recommend using a inline fuse. All you need is a fuse holder like this on...

Re: Help with blue battery block wiring

Those are the right connectors. When you cut the wire the4e will be a red and black internal wire. Thread a green sealer ring onto each wire first. Thwn strip the ends of each wire and crimp them into the rear of the female silver terminals. I also put some solder on them for a more secure connecti...

Re: Splash!

Glad you're okay Brian, a bit of gear is a small price to pay. I just did some re entry practice in my PA the other day with it set up as I'd normally fish minus my reels on the rods. I made up a reentry step ladder based on the rescue step but with only one strap as I don't think both a necessary. ...

Re: Protecting sounder... Any DIY ideas?

Iv noticed when I spray my sounder plugs, and also reels, with inox, they bubble a bit. I presume that's the inox reacting with the salt.. I try to leave my sounder plugged in as often as possible, no air = no corossion from what I'm lead to believe Leaving it plugged in would definitely be the bes...
