Re: Port Mac Offshore Sealife

Incredible how close to the action you can get on a kayak... and how much it would suck if you were reincarnated as a bait fish!

Awesome footage!

Re: Which inflatable kayak ?

Hi Jake, I fished off a Sea Eagle Paddleski for years, it was a very comfortable kayak and I did some serious kilometres paddling that thing. I chose it because I liked the fact that the surface you're sitting on isn't inflatable, it's a trampoline so if you dropped a knife or hook it was fine and t...

A New Zealand trip is definitely on the bucket list, beautiful countryside and the water looks so pristine, nice work!

Re: Asian Seared Tuna

All good sorry if it sounded like I was mansplaining. :)

I didn't want people thinking I was recklessly feeding friends and family catfood grade sashimi!

Getting the fish into the kayak was the easy bit, getting it home in good nick was more of a challenge... and expensive.

Re: Asian Seared Tuna

I had about 600 grams of belly flap Sashimi for breakfast yesterday, smelled fresh, hasn't oxidised... and I'm still here to talk about it. I vacuum sealed large portions that were patted dry and turned the fridge up until our sparkling mineral water started to go slushy, I like to keep it at a temp...

Re: Asian Seared Tuna

Looks great, love the presentation, will give that one a try! After 3 dinner parties with friends and family and pretty much eating tuna once or twice a day we've finally whittled down the pile of vacuum sealed portions to a about 3kgs, did a Hawaiian Poke style last night for friends. Surprisingly ...

Re: Adventure Island down

I've had a manual electric bilge pump in the Viking since I got it nearly 3 years ago, I test it every time before I launch and it hasn't missed a beat. When I installed it I filled the kayak and it pumped all the water out in a few minutes, only draws 2.1 amps so it can run for at least 8 hours on ...

Re: Reminder re hot weather

Very unusual but this is what this hot weather mix with potential thunderstoms can do. I had heard of sea breezes but hadn’t heard of land breezes and hadn’t paid much attention to them until last year I got hit by a big one at Campbell’s that was very definitely offshore and had a fair bit of powe...
