Re: Darwin award... for some people....
Three times recently I've seen the same guy fishing in a small yak off Millers with his pfd hanging off the back corner of the yak. Each time I've had a word about wearing the pfd etc with little response. Well last Sunday he was out there again but this time he was wearing his pfd. So I went...

What's the go with the GPS option?? " GME’s AccuSat Series, available with or without an integrated Am I correct in assuming this is required to transmit your location accurately? The models without gps will allow location to within 5km. Models with gps can narrow that down to as little as 45m...

Re: Hobie Quest
Kingo, I haven't put up a review as such but I have made a few comments in recent posts if you search. Overall I've found it an excellent paddle yak that does everything I want short of mirags drives. It seems that people iften forget that hobie make paddle yaks that IMHO are better than many others...

Re: Cobra question...Vs various.
How do they go paddling over a longer haul? Say around 20kms. Easy enough to do or a bit of a pain in the butt? I've never done a single trip anything near that length. The most I would do in a session would be around 8 to 10km and not straight line. With these I have been quite comfortable but its...

Re: Cobra question...Vs various.
The Hobie is a nice piece of kit. I'm fairly large for it though, 6'3" and 95-100kgs... I have the Hobie Quest 13 and I'm 6'4" and a bit over 90kgs. I have absolutely no trouble fitting into it (not even up to the last foot peg) and the weight capacity is listed as 159kg. The Quest handle...

However I also have a second ebay tandem kayak that I use to fish with one of my 2 teenage boys or they both go in the tandem and I go in th...

Re: Bought Something new wanna share it? Post it here
Hi Del, Before you open it you may need to decide if you are happy wih the sounder reading depth in US units (ft/F) only. I was looking at importing a hummingbird before I got a garmin echo 300c but was turned off by the US units. The Hummingbird US site has this on the PiranahMax170 page: All produ...

Re: orange safety flag
I got orange safety flags for both my yaks from Bunnings at the trade desk. Nice size and tough material on a wooden stick for $2.50 each.
The wooden handle slides nicely into a piece of PVC pipe that can be mounted into a scupper hole or attached to a rocket luancher etc.
