Re: PLB/EPIRB Placement
Thanks Eric, a great reminder that anything is possible at any time, I used to watch a lot of Timmy turtles video and hadn't seen this before. My PLB is attached to my PFD and I have an EPIRB attached to my large tackle box that lives on my yak when in the water.

Re: What rods do you take?
Thanks for all the replys. Much appreciated. For me, safety will be paramount. I plan on putting in plenty of practice before I even concider putting a rod in. I'm keeping my eyes open for a second hand Hobie in the 4m range. I'm 6'3 and 100+kgs, so I think the larger models would also suit me bett...

Much the same as Digger I started diving at the age of 12 while on holiday at Bermagui and this got me interested in all facet...

Re: Dirt Fishing/ gold Detecting
Nice setup will, I used to prospect up around central Vic when I was younger with my family and was looking to get back into it a few years back but chose to invest in kayak fishing instead :shhh: I watched a program on tv and the guy said that you can make enough to pay for your setup just collecti...
