Another couple of weeks Update --

just before the week end of the 12th /13th I got the last sections of floor glued down the the bearers with thickened epoxy ready for some glassing of all the floor seams
IMG_2112.JPG
So on that week end I got all the floor seams filled and glass taped as well as glassing in the drop down well section for the fuel tank to fit in
IMG_2120.JPG
and got started on the gunnels with some uprights that hold the gunnels and stiffen the sides
IMG_2122.JPG
then thought the week after work Monday I got the gunnel framing done and though the week glued the tops to the frame
IMG_2125.JPG
IMG_2130.JPG
each side had to be glued one day apart I ran out of clamps to do both
by friday both gunnels were glued up and cleaned up - I ran a 10 mm radius router cut inside and out of these as well as a cut right around the bow

Used to assist in building clinker hulls, our gunwales were a little heavier than yours of course. One thing we did stick on the outside of the gunwales was a chafing rail so as to not damage the hull when the boat was up against objects like wharves etc. Great job Cheater. You must be pretty proud. What is your bare hull target weight?

looks good Cheater from the photos it looks as if with get from a to b in a hurry to. when I was doing a certified welding ticket at newport before it closed down they were still teaching wooden boat building there, that was about 2006 but not sure what happened after they move to sunshine.

I have a hard wood strip around the gunnels and bow although I don't think it should do much rubbing against hard objects - and weight not sure but guessing 60 - 65 kg bare hull -

Come on now Cheater.
It's been a while now since you have tantalized us with some pics and info.
Has it got wet yet?
Ah,................... does it float? :yahoo:
Is it a slayer?
Will it last longer than Timmy Turtles 'Pipe Dreams II'?
Maybe a 25Hp Yammy to propel it to mac 3?

Yep, we're desperate to get out.
Please ease our suffering and share with us.
:yahoo:  E
