Does anyone troll for squid using hardbody lures?
Any recommendations?
Cheers

Have caught them on several different lures but they usually get off, get better success trolling slowly with a squid jig better hook up.

Can troll with a Squid jig. Just try a few different techniques. Caught some on Sunday by just ripping forward then letting sink again. I was only in shallow water and travelling slow.

Yep lots of success. The bigger squid seem to attack the hb's more angrily. Just use HBs with fine trebles. If you get hits without hooking up, stop the Hb for a second or 2, seems to get the squids fired up. I posted some pics recently with my favourite jigs and hb's.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Had them on Hardbodies and Soft plastics the problem is the hook up.
Saw an episode of adventure Bound where Lee rigged up a squid barb stinger on a live bait line.
He used dacron sleeve and some UV glue (from memory)
There is a bit of chat about it here about half way down

I troll for them a lot on a squid jig and have seen them dart up to my Berkley Frenzy (is there any thing they won't catch!)
