anyone using tube with lures
is that tube adding to the visibility of the lure?

Not like that but I saw a segment on a Paul Worsterling show once where a section (4 or 5 inches) of clear drinking tube slid down the line where a largish hook stops it. Trolling this arrangement created a lot of bubbles and would attract some fish I believe.
I did set one up and try it with no result.
However the commotion it created in the water was impressive and I believe could work.

I've done this when fishing for Salmon, and found it to be very effective...
used a bit of Maccas straw locked with a split shot

As Drew said works a treat hunting for salmon, not so good if the pike or tailor are about...
