Cleaning a hobie.

Post by torquayak »

Hello all,
Just returned from a week cruising down the murray in a houseboat around echuca.
I got home yesterday and washed my hobie spot ( papaya) with warm soapy water and a scrubbimg brush but some of the mud aint coming off the inside ( rough surface area.)
Ant suggestions how to get this murray mud off would be great.
Thanks,
Adrian.

much like icebergs off a glacier only on a smaller scale.
People laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at them because they're all the same.

Haha. I think what people are saying is to wear all the mud, blood, guts and ink you cant get off as a badge of honour.
If you get your yak to clean people will think you dont catch anything.

Sensible reply time - I just use a truck wash detergent. Squid ink fades pretty quickly with time if it doesn't wash off.

I've got no idea how to wash a yak, never washed mine apart from a very rare hose down to get blood and guts off (If you saw mine you would laugh).

If your asking because your selling it, go and see Neil at action kayak and sail, if anyone knows how to get a yak presentable for resale it will be someone in the industry.
