Hi "Bretty', really enjoying the 'vids' you put up, haven't been out in the "Outback" for ages, (been crook), so at least I can sit back and watch you in action!

When you were fishing for 'Ting' at RI, were you using bait or small 'Sp's'?........I'm most interested, also, do you ever use 'Safeway green prawns' for bait, or steer clear of them?

Wishing you and the 'Red Yak', a very happy and safe 2014, (I would love to know how many K's you have done in that)????, and look forward to catching up one day when you are next down fishing WP.

"Cheers" :up:

Hey POG I was catching the whiting on plastics
They love Berkley Gulps in a 3in jigging grub or the trusty old turtle back worm with about 1in cut of the front of them both in pumpkinseed :up:
Jig heads were a 1/6oz 2/0 TT bream hooks and the ting were bending them :wtf:
When I'm down that side of town I always have banana prawns with me they haven't failed me yet :thumbsup:
Have used the green prawns aswell they were fine :up:

Hi Brett, thankyou for the 'info' on the "Ting", must try that option one day. I guess the area near Reef Is. has a fairly slow tidal stream and you can then use appropriately weighted jigheads to get the plastics to the seabed.

Best wishes for 2014.

Yep there was little to no tide flow
Where I was fishing is only .8-1.5m so its fairly shallow
When the water cleared on the run out tide the flat I was fishing was covered in bass yabbie holes :evilgrin: :evilgrin:
The ting were spewing them up during the fight :up:

It would also be a great spot for whiting on poppers on the right day :up:
