Hey guys, I see a lot of acronyms or names for where people launch or where the head out too. I'm able to work out what/where a few of them are but I still don't know them for the most part. Thought it would be a good idea to collate the acronyms and have it as a thread where people new to kayaking can come and get their head around a few of the acronyms or nicknames for places so they aren't left in the dark.
Cheers Alex

Re: Acronyms
Here's a few to start you off:
LL = Lang Lang Westernport
JJ = Jam Jerrup
RI = Reef Island
PPB = Port Philip Bay
WP = Western Port so is 'Mud Pond'
GT = Goat Track unless you are talking to a northerner in which case it is Giant Trevally
PF = Port Fairy
The Island = Phillip Island
FI= French Island
SWR = South West Rocks
On fishing report pages South of the breakwall or 23m of Mount Martha or spot X means you are not supposed to know where the fish were caught. Also be aware that general areas can be vague eg Altona could be anwhere from Seaholme to Point Cook and in close on the shallow reef or out at P2 beacon.

I've made this thread a sticky. Lets try to keep the off topic posts to a minimum so it's easy reading for those who need to.
