Looks great, very tempting...

I'm keen to do an offshore trip but planning ahead I'd prefer to cover water out West to do a bit of bottom bashing or chase kingies leading into tuna season - familiarize myself with the area.

Two birds with one stone so to speak.

...still... that ramp area looks nice. :)

I did a trip from Cleeland Bight to Cape Paterson just over a year ago...

Here's the ramp/launch spot:

Looks nice, thanks Mingle!
Oh and BTW, was that you flying around out the front of Cape Woolamai yesterday?

I've done Hastings-Cody by boat. It's not just above water weather you need to watch... Currents get pushed up and absolutely rush over the banks at times. I'd do it by AI only unless super athlete fit

Last trip out to Cody we landed a 220kg mako. The blokes that go there now days recon its pretty hard to get somewhere on your own to lay a berley trail over summer as there are boats everywhere. If you do venture out there make sure you are highly visible to the numb nuts driving boats.

Yep, that would've been me. I saw a sea-kayak close to the end of the Cape as I was heading back in - was that you?

Mike.

What if pacific sails on yaks were used to help save energy to get out there ?

I have considered it and looked into the flat earth sails a few times. It is an option. Though I'm finding the more I paddle the less effect the elements and distances have on my ability to get back in, so the sail is starting to look more like it would just be more weight and another thing to sort out if I hook up. A big trip offshore like this may make it worth it though....

Great suggestion bop, thankyou!
