Good point about having id on your yak. I will have the vyak flag and stickers, and soon my vyak ID in big letters

Regarding having ID in/on your Yak; I print out 2 copies of my fishing license and laminate them.
1 goes in my wallet and the other gets put in the hull of my yak (wedged between floatation blocks so it doesn't move).
That way, I've always got my fishing license handy if needed and it serves as a form of ID if the worst should happen.

Reading the regulations. Do you rely need a bulge pump on a kayak? Will a bucket not be enough?

Of course you might need a electric bilge pump and you will definitely need a manual one if you have an enclosed hull like a hobie. Makes sense to me.

Its either/or.
A bailer is required if you don't have a yak fitted with an electric or manual bilge pump. Bilge pump is the better option imho as you can add a hose to a manual pump and operate it through a bung to the hull rather than having hatches open to use a bailer or bucket.
