Under these influences, i took the advice of "ask for forgiveness instead of permission", and made the major purchase without swmbo's permission and it will be shipped down in 2 weeks time....

So I now have to find a good excuse when the purchase turns up......

1. " Look honey, a lost kayak followed me home! Can I keep it?"
Or
2. A new house? I know that works, but no chance unless I win tatts.
Or
3. Me in birthday suit with pink ribbon ? That works with her on me, not other way around...


So boys, what other excuse should I try?

just tell her it cost the same as what you sold the revo for, straight swap, she cant be too mad as youre "not out of pocket"

Shouldn't of said you sold the last one. Just say you painted it a different colour. My Mrs wouldn't notice other details too much. Seriously explain it barely cost more than the other one and this one is much safer than the old kayak. Safety is the largest fear.

Steve, Just say: "I used my money from the sale of my old yak to buy it's replacement." Also note that it was a ridiculously cheap price (nearly $900 off) for the yak you were going to get at some point anyway and due to the AKS sale you had to snap it up to avoid losing out. The price of the Dusta is probably less than what you got for the Revo?
